For thousands of years, medical treatments in Eastern countries followed a completely different path from those prescribed today in the Western half of the globe. In our Western society, we employ preventative medical practices, but we primarily consult a doctor or physician when we are ill, which makes perfect sense to us.
In reality, this is usually our downfall. It inevitably means that we claim the right to live an unhealthy lifestyle and mistreat ourselves in intolerable ways, only seeking help when our bodies cause us problems.
